Weissman, Chaim (“Harry”)
Son of Zelig and Anna. Born on the 17th of Tishrei 5711 (28.9.1950) in Iasi, Romania. In 1964, the family immigrated to Israel and lived at the age of 14. The family settled in Dimona and Haim was sent to Kibbutz Maanit for a year, graduating in Dimona with honors, mainly in literature and history. He planned his life for the coming days and he saw electronics as the branch of the future. He was preparing for studies and serving in the regular army. Four months after his enlistment and before he was sent to the course of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he went out with his comrades to an action from which he did not return, on the 18th of Elul 5728 (September 11, 1968) and was brought to rest in the Dimona cemetery. The commander of his unit wrote a letter of condolence to his family and concluded: “Your son Haim was an Israeli fighter whose goal was to contribute the utmost to the security of our country.” The Dimona Municipality issued a pamphlet “In Memory of Them”
