Weissler, Mordechai
Mordechai, son of Menachem-Mendel and Chana Weissler, was born in 1932 in Tomaszow Lubelski, Poland. In 1946 he left his father’s home and traveled with a youth kibbutz to France. The following year he immigrated to Israel on the ship “Exodus 1947” and was returned to Germany. At the port of Amden, the British took him off the ship by force and he was wounded in resisting them. He finally arrived in Israel in 1949. He was drafted into the IDF in July 1950 and on the ninth of Elul 5710 (22.8.1950), passed away. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
