Weissberg, Jacob


Son of Adolf. He was born in 1903 in Poland in 1903. He immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1935. In World War II, he enlisted in the British army and was assigned to the Transportation Corps, with a group of several dozen drivers from Palestine, where he was attached to a transport company 232. Jacob was captured and on the 19th of Cheshvan, 30th of October 1942 he was killed during an attempt to escape from captivity. His place of burial is unknown and his name was immortalized in “The Book of the Press” Yizkor “of the Jabotinsky Institute. In an investigation conducted in 2017 a tombstone was found in cATHENScMEMORIAL, Athens, Greece.
