Weiss, Shalom


Son of Eliezer and Rachel. He was born in 1918 in Czechoslovakia, where he joined the Nutras, where his father had an agricultural farm, and the family was deported from the farm by the Russian Tsar. The family wandered to the city of Munkács in Czechoslovakia. Shalom immigrated with his brother Dov to Israel and lived in the Beit Yisrael neighborhood of Jerusalem. When he returned from guard duty, he was injured by a car in the Mea Shearim neighborhood, and a few days later, on 27th of Tevet, 23 January 1944, died of his wounds. He was laid to rest in the cemetery on the Mount of Olives. Survived by a wife Leah and a young daughter – Nitzchiya.
