Weiss, Mordechai (Andre)

Son of-Ethel and Yechezkel-Menachem, was born on the 16th of Adar I, 5627 (16.2.1927) in the city of Stenz, Slovakia. He attended high school and then began working in the framework. Was a member of the Betar movement, was alone in his short life in Israel, and there was no news of his life until his arrival here, and he must have experienced the hardships of all the Jews in that region: concentration camp, labor camps, hunger, hard labor , Insults and torments, and after the war – DP camps, migrations and “escapes.” All that is known about him is that on July 14, 1948, he arrived in the State of Israel, Mordechai fell on the 29th of Tishrei 5729 (29.10.1948) in Meron during Operation “Hiram” to liberate the Galilee, and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Rosh Pina.
