Weinrich, Joseph
Son of Etta and Abraham. Born in Riga, Latvia, in 1935. Immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1935. Studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and lived in an immigrant home in Kfar Saba in 1938. Joined the ranks of the Israel Electric Company in 1938 and moved to Bilu. On 18 Shvat, February 7, 1939, he went on a tour with a company of policemen from the mobile guard of the Gedera police station. Around midnight, when the company returned from the patrol, between Masmiya and Kastina, the patrol was ambushed. Yosef was killed by the attackers and laid to rest in the Hagana and Ha’apala area of the cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak.
