Weinrava, Erich


Son of Hans and Irma. He was born on March 28, 1924 in Vienna, Austria. He immigrated to Israel in 1949. Erich completed his studies in his hometown where he also acquired a profession as a typewriter mechanic, and until his immigration to Israel he worked in this profession, and after living in Israel he lived for a certain period of time in the Be’er Ya’akov immigrant home, Prior to his military service, Erich worked in the army in Israel in early January 1950 and was assigned to the Engineering Corps. As a military profession, he served as an office mechanic, and over time he progressed to management and responsibility. About a year and ten months after his induction, Erich joined the regular army and served there until his death. He took an advanced training course for trainees, followed by a general management course. Erich was promoted to the rank of master sergeant, and in 1955 he married Hadassah and eventually had two children, Yochanan and Shiri, and Erich also supported his mother until the day of her death. Throughout his many years of service, he was recognized and respected as a professional who fulfilled his duties efficiently and diligently, with diligence and modesty, and his behavior was a model for others.At the beginning of 1975 Erich intended to retire from military service and to prepare for his civil life.
