Weinman, Zvi Reuven


Ben Ayala and Ze’ev. He was born in Tel Aviv on 19 August 1969. He studied at the Gordon Elementary School in Bat Yam and at the Bachar Rousseau Elementary School in Tzur Moshe, then continued his studies at the regional high school in Tel Aviv, Gurion University in Emek Hefer and completed at the Air Force Technical School in the field of Instrumentation and Control. Zvika was very diligent in his studies. As a child he was a member of the youth movement Maccabi Hatza’ir in Bat Yam. He was naturally independent and loved to help others. Before completing his army service he successfully completed an air-to-air missile training course, and in late December 1987 he was drafted into the IDF and joined the air force. He performed various duties until his last job, an electrician in the cargo department. Zvika was well integrated into his work and even decided to recommend him as an outstanding soldier. In addition, a child was educated as part of an educational project organized by the Ministry of Education. On the 16th of Tammuz 5749 (16.7.1989) Zvi fell during his service and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Netanya. Survived by a father, two brothers – Ari and Eitan, and two sisters – Vered and Gili. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Zvika was a dedicated and loyal soldier in the workshop, quiet and accepted among those around him. Every task required to be carried out was done willingly and well. “
