Weingarten, Asher (Artek)


Son of Rachel and Solomon, was born on September 15, 1929, in the town of Turka Amastry, Galicia, Poland, and grew up in the town of Brody, during which he was a third-grader in high school and hid with his father in the forests. In the days of horror, they left Poland and moved to Germany to immigrate to Eretz Israel, and the 19-year-old disappeared to the homeland at the height of the War of Independence on August 14, 1948.
