Weinberg, Arnon (Roni)


Son of Vicky and Cherlow. Arnon was born in Tel Aviv on August 3, 1959. He was a healthy and happy baby from the moment of his birth, brother to Emanuela. His family called him affectionately: Ronnie. Arnon attended the “Yavneh” elementary school in Tel Aviv and continued his studies at “New High School” and at the Ort Singalovski vocational high school in the city. After his studies Arnon was ordained to be a lifeguard, after successfully passing a course for sea rescuers and a pool, and until the beginning of his service in the army he worked as a lifeguard for a living. Arnon was drafted into the IDF and served in the air force as an aircraft engineer in the F-15 squadron, and as a lifeguard in the swimming pool at the Palmachim Air Force base, and after his discharge from the IDF, Arnon worked for two years as an ambulance driver and paramedic in MDA. In August 1984, Arnon married Shoshana and in the following years they had three children, two sons and a daughter: Nir, Dana and Ziv, and in 1994 the family moved to Shoham. In October 2003, Arnon and his family went abroad to celebrate the bar mitzvah of his youngest son, Ziv. In a terrible accident at the beginning of the trip in Germany, on 14 Tishrei, 10 October 2003, Arnon and his son Ziv were killed. Superintendent Arnon was forty-four years old when he fell. He was buried in the cemetery in Holon. Family members wrote: “The tragic death of Arnon and Ziv z” l was a severe blow to the family, friends, police and school friends. Both were highly valued and loved and their departure would be felt for a long time. We will cherish their memory forever. “
