Wegman, Julian
Son of Herman and Frida. He was born in 1948 in Russia, and immigrated to Israel in 1957. He completed his elementary studies at the Bialik School in Netanya, and studied at the “Neurim” mechanical school near Mikhmoret. He was a metal worker, and an excellent car mechanic. He was a trainee in the professional section of Hanoar Haoved. He was a gentleman, well-known for his honesty, diligence and devotion to work, and was calm and courteous. He was drafted into the IDF in May 1968. He fell in the line of duty before he completed his compulsory army service, on the 29th of Shevat, February 17, 1969. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. The commander of the unit, at his grave, said that Julian was beloved by soldiers and commanders alike. He was a volunteer for operations on Mount Hermon. The unit was proud of soldiers like him.
