Waxleboom, Isaac (Nandy)

Son of Meir was born in 1926 in one of the Jewish communities in Hungary and completed his studies in an elementary school in the town of Miskuls. The Nazis kept him in their camps and tortured him badly. When he was liberated he decided to immigrate to Eretz Israel because he never saw any hope and destiny in the Diaspora. He said goodbye to his father, who had survived, and set off. Yitzhak arrived in Israel on the Negba in 1946. At the outbreak of the War of Independence he was one of the first to join the fighting forces on the front of Jerusalem. Participated in the Kastel, Sheikh Jarrah, Nablus Gate and more. Yitzhak fell in the minaret on the 11th of Iyar 5708 (May 20, 1948). On the 28th of Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem
