Wasserman, Shlomo


Son of Sophia and Abraham, was born on October 13, 1925, in the city of Okiburg, Germany. He attended elementary school. In his youth, his father died. In 1939, at the age of 14, he immigrated with his mother to Eretz Israel. They sat in the seat ahead. The mother dealt in medicine and the boy continued to study and prepare himself for agriculture. Not too long later, too, he was killed by his mother. He stopped his studies and devoted all his energies to the agriculture he inherited from her. For several years he reached a high level as a farmer thanks to his great industriousness, practical work and diligence at work. He dedicated his public activity to security matters. In 1945, he completed a training course for Haganah commanders and since then served as the commander of the Palmach and was a member of the Palmach, and at the beginning of his service he enlisted in the Alexandroni Brigade. In the outposts, and afterward volunteered for tour roles and excelled as one of the boldest scouts, one of those operations in the “Triangle” did not return.In light of the first day of Heshvan 5703 (November 3, 1948), the Rangers went out to act behind enemy lines in Samaria. They fell in Bir-Burin-Tulkarm. Shlomo was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. On Tu B’Shvat 5709 a garden was planted in memory of them.
