Wasserman, Aaron

Son of-Haim-Aryeh and Chaya. He was born on 24.2.1949 in Netanya. When Aharon reached school, he began studying at the Bialik Elementary School and when he completed his elementary studies, he continued to study at the military boarding school at the Reali School in Haifa, but he did not finish tenth grade because he moved to the vocational school “Neurim” in Kfar Vitkin. He was conscripted into the IDF in August 1966. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel before he completed his compulsory army service when he took up his duties near Menahamiya, on the 9th of Sivan 5768 (June 9, 1968). Was promoted to lieutenant, whose unit commander wrote to his family in a letter of condolence: “As an officer, Aharon always stood out in his desire to work and succeed, first and foremost to his soldiers and only afterwards to himself. I still remember when Karameh worked under fire, without taking his consent. And on the day he fell, it was because he wanted to do more than he had to. In his unit, Aharon remains an example of an exemplary officer – and we hope that others will be like him. “His father, Haim Aryeh, died of illness while in military service.
