Warbur, Hanan (Honi)


Son of Leah and Joseph. Born on 20 September 1961 in Rehovot, Hanan graduated from the “Sprinzak” elementary school and moved to the “Katzir” junior high school, during which Hanan stood out in the technical and electrical fields he continued to develop at the ORT high school in Rehovot, Cum laude in the prestigious electronics program.In November 1979 Hanan joined the IDF. Due to health problems he suffered from as a child, he was given a low profile, but Hanan insisted on serving a useful service he did in the Intelligence Corps. During his service, he underwent a long series of professional courses, which he successfully completed. In July 1980 he was promoted to sergeant. Hanan proved himself and showed great professionalism in the various positions he performed. His commanders appreciated his knowledge and he was recommended for an officers’ course. In February 1980, Hanan was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel, and when the Peace for Galilee war broke out, he was with the fighting force in Lebanon. Preferred to carry out the tasks assigned to him personally, and he did so with dedication, efficiency and high standards. “In November 1982 Hanan began serving in the regular army, and was promoted to lieutenant in September 1983. On February 16, 1984, 22 Hanan was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rehovot, where he left behind his parents, brother and sister in a condolence letter to his family: “Hanan served under my command for two years with efficiency and dedication and was respected by his commanders and soldiers. His death is a minister, but a heavy one for all those who were with him “
