Wallach, Meches
Son of Yatta and Hinman, was born on July 9, 1914 in the city of Aurbach, the district of Thuringia, Germany. When he finished high school he moved to Minningen where he worked in a leather shop. In 1933 he joined Hanoar Hazioni and went to the Netherlands for agricultural training. In 1946 he boarded the Yagur ship and was deported by the British to Cyprus. It was only three months later that he was allowed to return to Israel. When he came to Israel he settled in Haifa and became a construction worker. In April 1948 he enlisted in the Golani Brigade and served in Ashdot Yaakov and Gesher, and was later transferred to the outposts in the vicinity of Sejera. He refused to serve in the rear and chose to stand on the first line. He was known as a good friend, answered every call for help and liked all his friends. He participated in the many battles for the liberation of the Galilee and fell at the Sejera outpost on his birthday, on the 9th of Tammuz 5708 (9.7.1948), was buried in Kfar Tavor and placed a wife who married him a few months before his enlistment. 1950) was transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery in Haifa.
