Wald, Menachem (Mandy)

Son of Bluma and Shmuel-Zvi, was born on November 23, 1923, in the city of Nova Mesto Nad Wohm, near Pressburg, Czechoslovakia. In September 1946, he immigrated to Israel, where he underwent absorption and integration. Menachem fell on the 28th of Kislev 5708 (11.12.1947) after a difficult battle, when a convoy, traveling from Jerusalem to Gush Etzion was ambushed. On 17.11.1949, he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
