Wald, Gabriel
Son of Hertz and Chebba. He was born in Paris, the capital of France, on February 17, 1934. He was able to attend only a few classes there, and in 1944, haunted by the horrors of World War II, he immigrated to Israel as part of the Youth Aliyah and arrived in Gan Shmuel. It was easy for the ten-year-old, the suffering and the bitterness, to recover from the years of war that had haunted him: he was serious, experienced in spite of his young age, and was walking in his own world. In July 1953 he was drafted into the IDF and took his life after his release when he returned to Gan Shmuel and devoted himself entirely to his small and pleasant world, Over home-mom distance. On the 16th of Tevet 5714 (December 16, 1953) he fell in battle near Bet-Guvrin and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in his kibbutz.
