Wahab, Eliash

Son of Miriam and Chaim, was born in 1928 in Tel Aviv to a family of laborers. The harsh financial situation in the family forced him to stop his studies and go out to work as a young boy. At the age of 13, he left the house and joined the Hashomer Hatzair youth group in Ein HaShofet and later in Ein Shemer, where he found his way of life in agricultural work in the kibbutz and in the Palmach. On the first day of the State of Israel, when the regular Egyptian army had already crossed the border of our country and advanced into it, he participated in a convoy to the besieged village of Darom. On this day, on the 6th o Iyar, 15 May 1948, he fell. Eliash was laid to rest at the Nahalat Yitzhak Military Cemetery. His memory was published in the booklet “Ten Fallen” published by Kibbutz Harel.
