He studied at the elementary school in Zofit and later studied at the Ort vocational high school in Kfar Sava, in the framework of mechanical frameworks. Dan, who was called by all – Danny, had strong and warm feelings. He had a kind heart and loved everyone and thanks to these qualities, people loved being with him. He was honest and sought for the truth and justice. He always excelled in a thorough and profound way of thinking and had a serious and mature judgment. Danny was an outstanding athlete. He practiced swimming (and earned his certification as a lifeguard) and was a permanent member of the Hapoel Petah Tikva team. He also practiced judo and karate, participated in many competitions and achieved outstanding achievements in these sports. Dan was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in October 1967 and was assigned to the Ordnance Corps, where he was able to utilize the professional knowledge he acquired in his high school studies, after serving as a metalworker in a regional workshop of the Ordnance Corps in the Central Command. In the regular army for one year, and while he was in the army, he married his girlfriend Aliza and together with him established his home in Kfar Saba. He served as an ordnance officer in an elite patrol unit of infantry. In addition, he took a parachute course and was awarded the wings of a parachutist.
