Son of Esther Bela and Israel Ze’ev. Born on August 26, 1917, in Warsaw, Poland, In 1938 he immigrated to Israel, settled in Haifa and began his studies at the Technion, and after the outbreak of World War II, he responded to the call of the Yishuv. He joined the British army and was sent to the transport forces and sent to Egypt with his unit, and in late April 1943, an Allied convoy of passengers left Egypt for Sicily via Malta to participate in the invasion of Europe. On the afternoon of the 27th of Nisan 5703 (1.5.1943), a German reconnaissance plane circled over the ships. They arrived in the evening and bombed the convoy. The “Aryanpura” suffered two direct hits and immediately drowned. One hundred and forty of the unit’s soldiers, including Simcha, were drowned in disaster. He left behind his parents, brothers, and sister.
