Vurm, Aryeh
Son of Tova and Menashe, was born on February 20, 1919 in Stry, Poland. From the age of 12 he belonged to the “Emunah” Zionist youth association and was active in it. He completed his studies at the state gymnasium in his city and studied for one year at the university’s medical faculty. With the outbreak of World War II he fled to Russia and joined the Red Army. After the famous agreement between the Russian authorities and General Sikorski, he was drafted into the Polish army under the command of General Anders and arrived in Israel in 1944. During the War of Independence he enlisted in the Alexandroni Brigade and fell in his duties in Kfar Shmaryahu on 19.10.1910 1948. He was brought to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
