Viling, David (Tadek)


David, son of Rivka and Shimon, was born on February 28, 1921 in Lodz, Poland. David and immigrated to Israel and was arrested for nine months in Cyprus. In March 1948, he was drafted and promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel. He participated in the heroic defense of the Gesher police during the Iraqi invasion (he wrote the details in an impressive letter, which was his last letter), and fell in the battle of Sejera on 3 Tamuz, July 10, 1948. He was buried in Kfar Tavor and on 22.6.1950 was transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
