Vidan, Ephraim


Son of Bracha and Shlomo, was born on the 2th of Tishrai, September 23, 1931 in the city of Cologne, Rhineland, Germany. When he was three years old he came to Israel, grew up in the Montefiore neighborhood. After the establishment of the State of Israel, Ephraim served in the Palmach as a scout and participated in battles in the vicinity of Jerusalem. On the 24th of Elul 5708 (September 28, 1948) he received an order to pass from one outpost to another, and on the way, in the nearby Deir-Ibn strongholds he encountered a land mine and was killed on the spot. Ephraim was laid to rest In the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim.
