Vidal, Shalom


Son of Rachel and Meir. He was born on the 14th of Cheshvan 5707 (14.11.1955) in Sopro, Morocco. In 1962 he immigrated to Israel with his family, who settled in Ramle. He studied at the Bar-Ilan religious elementary school and later at the Shakdiel religious high school and successfully passed his matriculation exams. Shalom grew up and was educated in the spirit of Jewish tradition and faith in the Gd of Israel. He was an outstanding student and had excellent scholastic achievements. He worked on his studies with the knowledge and understanding that he was paving his way to the future. After completing his studies, he knew that he must combine spirit with material, and went to work to support himself and help support the family. He worked as a carpenter and did well in his work. After a period of training and specialization, he became an excellent professional. Shalom was very active in sports and especially in soccer. Was a partner in extensive social activity, although he preferred to study and work on entertainment. He had strong views and clear political views. In the many debates he participated in, he tried to convince his audience of the justice of his views and adamantly defended his positions. Shalom was drafted into the IDF in early February 1974 and assigned to the Artillery Corps, where he was trained to serve as a crew member in the artillery corps and was sent to serve in the Artillery Corps in the Northern Command on the eve of his departure for the course “Kim, a member of the Artillery Corps, fell in the line of duty during operational activity in the northern border region and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Ramle, leaving behind his parents, five sisters and two brothers.
