Vidal, Rafael (Ben-Ezra)
Rafael, son of Elisha and Hedva Vidal, was born in Tel Aviv in 1956 in Sopro, Morocco and he immigrated to Israel with his family in 1963. Rafael was drafted into the IDF in March 1974 and assigned to the maintenance corps. After basic training, and after completing a heavy truck driver’s course, he was sent to a transport base as a truck driver of a heavy vehicle. Rafael was fond of his military service and enjoyed driving around the country, always volunteering to make long and difficult trips, day and night, and dreamed of the day he would own his own vehicle. On April 20, 1976 Rafael fell while serving in the north of Israel and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Ramle. He left behind his parents, ten brothers and sisters.
