Verro, Mendel

Son of-Feiga and Moshe-Reuven was born on December 29, 1924 in the city of Bacau, Romania, where he completed six elementary school classes and two high school classes and began to earn his living as a store clerk. He was trained in the ranks of the Haganah, and on the day he enlisted in the Alexandroni Brigade, and the Latrun Legion blocked the road to Jerusalem, and with the worsening of the situation in the city, it was decided to break through to son of-Nun. The forces that had set out on their missions were met with better enemy forces and had to retreat, and on the 17th of Iyar 5708 (26.5.1948), on the 25th day of Cheshvan, 5710 (17.11.1949) was brought to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
