Vashdi, Nissim


Son of Shlomo and Sarah. He was born on December 2, 1953 in Tel Mond. He studied at the Amiel elementary school in the Tel Aviv neighborhood of Hatikva, and continued his high school studies at the Lifshitz high school in Ein Karem in Jerusalem, in a general humanistic direction. Nissim was educated in a religious home and kept the commandments of the Torah. He was connected to his family and cared for all his family, both as a child and during his army service. He tried his best to help his family with a living, and to save money for the future for higher studies after his discharge from the army, which made it difficult for him to study law or sociology, because he wanted to help juvenile delinquents. Who saw during his stay in the Hatikvah neighborhood that many youngsters would not have gone downhill if they had been given the proper help, and that he had given this kind of help in life.Nissim was drafted into the IDF in mid-February 1972 and assigned to the Artillery Corps. After basic training, he trained in field artillery. A year later, he completed another course, the Hatem Commanders Course, and at the end of which he was appointed commander of the team. During his military service he was awarded the rank of sergeant. On the 20th of Kislev 5740 (20.6.1974), Nissim fell to the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind his parents and nine brothers and sisters, and his parents donated a Torah scroll to the Emet and Emuna Synagogue in the Ezra neighborhood B’.
