Vapny (Vapnirsky), Moshe

Son of Yoel and Sara Vapnirsky. He was born on March 6, 1936, in Tel Aviv. When the call to the flag came on the eve of the Six-Day War, he set out to prepare for the holy war. Almost three weeks of tension passed until the third day of the battles, on the 8th of Iyar 5727 (8.6.1967), in which a tank battle was held west of Bir-Gafgafa in the Sinai. He left a wife, a son and a daughter. He was buried in the military cemetery in Bari and was later transferred to eternal rest in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery. On the first anniversary of his death (29 Iyar 5728), the Ramat Gan Municipality’s Education Department and the Morasha School had, a memorial service in memory of him and at that time, converted the school to the “Moshe’s Heritage”.
