Vanunu, Simon


Ben Susan and Massoud. Simon was born on February 22, 1956. He was the eldest son with five brothers and sisters and immigrated to Israel, to Petah Tikva, together with his parents and younger siblings in 1962. He was educated at the Morasha elementary school until the eighth grade, And then continued his studies at the Nehalim hesder yeshiva, which is part of the Bnei Akiva youth movement. He excelled in his studies, and at the end received a matriculation certificate. On August 4, 1974, Simon enlisted in the IDF and served as a turret technician until 1977, after which he continued to serve for three years in the same position. About a year later, he enlisted in the Israel Police and went on a course for policemen, sergeants, and investigating dogs. After returning from a police course and a research course, he went to a course on behalf of the Ministry of Justice (private investigators) and returned to serve in Petah Tikva where he worked as a researcher of youths, members of minorities, He worked there until 1994, when he received a transfer to Rosh Ha’ayin. Between 1993 and 1996, Simon received a BA in Business Administration, an MBA and a degree in Criminology, and in 1997, after graduating in the ranks, he received the community policing in Rosh Ha’Ayin on April 8, 2000 Senior sergeant Mark Simon after a heart attack. Forty-four years old in his fall. He was buried in the cemetery in Segula, Petah Tikva. He left a wife and four children, a mother, three brothers and two sisters.
