In the Air Force, Eron held many positions, and in all of them he invested his best energies, intelligence and skills. The result of these efforts is clearly reflected in the assessments of commanders who were written about him during his military service. They all praised his work and his work, and noted his level of performance, professional ability and fair and friendly attitude to his unit. He was known for his honest manners, always ready to help others, loved and accepted by commanders and subordinates alike. He was responsible and reliable. On the 5th of Sivan 5709 (5.6.1979) Eron fell in the line of duty and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa, leaving behind a wife, son, daughter, mother, two brothers and two sisters. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “… Eron was an excellent squadron pilot, and as such he faced a long path of service in the IAF, which could have been very successful and satisfying.
