Vaknin, Hermon

Vaknin, Hermon

Ben Jacqueline and Gabriel. He was born on December 13, 1972 in Ashkelon, and after completing his studies at the Dekel Elementary School, he became a professional student at the Ort Afridar school, wishing to acquire a profession. Hermon was recruited to the IDF in July 1990, and after completing basic training he underwent a course in maintenance maintenance and was appointed as a logistics officer in the Maintenance Corps. According to his commanders, Hermon was “a good soldier, very positive and disciplined, responsible and caring, acceptable to all his friends, and did his job in the best possible way.” Before he was twenty years old, Hermon fell in the line of duty on a road accident on the 13th of Cheshvan 5753 (November 9, 1992). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Ashkelon. Survived by his parents, two brothers – Roi and Irad and two sisters – Eleanor and Shira. The commander of the battalion in which Hermon served said that for a year and a half Hermon was a non-commissioned officer and contributed both personally and professionally, not only in the quartermaster field, but also in carrying out ongoing field security missions on the border fence. He was willing to help anyone at any time. Was highly admired by his comrades and commanders and stood out as one of the leading soldiers in his company. “From his father’s words, Gabriel said:” When a father buries his son, this is a situation that goes against world order. Which does not cease to hurt and bleed. The space created in the heart is too deep to be filled by any substitute. We parents, brothers and sisters, are required to continue the continuity of life. Our son Hermon is a lily taken in his youth. Huge and growing spirit. His stature is low, but his spirit is huge. There is no consolation for such loss. Eldest son. First and foremost to his family. Crown and crown and eyes. Each stage of its growth is documented and leaves an unforgettable impression. His life developed in a flowing channel with constant investment of values and education. Indeed, all the values he absorbed, he lived them for himself and for others. His personality surfs and conquers: slips in her humbleness and conquers her nobility. We searched among his friends and acquaintances, even someone who would deliver something that lacked good – and no. And like the fruit of the first fruits, we are cut to decorate the Creator’s orchard … We are required to continue through tears, through sorrow and through grief. Because the continuation of continuity sustains our loved one in memory. Always young, always beautiful, always pure and smiling. And in the throes of longing, we again feel numbness, futility and frustration at the inability to cope with the pain and desire to move on. This feeling is very difficult in view of the fact that the connection between us and Hermon was multi-faceted and close. Then we embrace the weeping and draw from the memories a power to impart from the goodness, values and spirit of Hermon to the continuation of our lives … The seed was sown / sprouted; / Plant plant, / growing; Flower / flower / picked.
