Uris, Israel
Born in 1930 in Yemen and immigrated to Israel in 1945. He was educated in a religious institution for immigrant youth in Kfar Ganim near Petach Tikvah and was trained in the Neve Amiel Institute in Moshav Sde Ya’akov. At the beginning of the War of Independence he participated in guarding and defending the moshav. He was then recruited to serve in the Carmeli Brigade and took part in the battles of Tulkarm, Sajera, Tarshiha, Rosh Hanikra and the front of the Triangle. He recently took part in the conquest of the village of Birwa in the Western Galilee, where he fell on the 4th of sevan 5708 (4.7.1948), and on that day he was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya.
