Unger Cohen, Eli

Eli, son of Regina and Yitzhak Unger Cohen, was born in 1952 in Bystrica, Romania, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1964. Eli was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of November 1969. After basic training, he was assigned to the Air Force as a locksmith and was later transferred to the position of aircraft welder. According to his commander, Eli was a professional and did his job properly. On 22 Tamuz, July 29, 1986, when he was in reserve duty, he fell during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the military section of the cemetery in Sderot. He left behind his mother and a sister.
