Tzur, Giora


Giora, son of Sarah and Mordechai, was born on December 18, 1947 in Tiberias. He was assigned to the Nahal Brigade in mid-July 1966. On October 19, 1973, the unit crossed the Suez Canal and was forced to occupy the enemy compound “Oracha”. The enemy force in the compound was large and the battle was difficult and deadly. The compound was conquered, but Giora fell in battle for his conquest. He was brought to eternal rest in the Kinneret cemetery. He left behind a wife and daughter, parents and three sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to First Sergeant.
