Tzipa (Bachar), Moshe

His eldest son, Avraham (Bechor), was born in 1928 in the Galata district of Istanbul, Turkey. He attended elementary school for eight years, two years in high school, and in 1943 he came to Eretz Israel as part of the Youth Aliyah. For two years he studied and worked in agriculture in the religious kibbutz in Ramatayim. He then moved to Tel Aviv and worked in building frameworks, in order to send part of his salary to support his parents, who remained in Turkey and to save money for immigration to Palestine and first aid in arranging them. In all his letters to his parents and friends he praised the country and its life and made them go up. After the UN General Assembly resolution on partition, he enlisted among the first, and his friends remembered his coolness and his familiarity with difficult situations that were useful to them, as well as the encouragement he had given during the heavy shelling: Moshe served in the Givati ​​Brigade and participated in many battles, Yazur, Beit Daras, in the battle for Ashdod, etc. Between battle and battle he would always talk about his parents and say that he was fighting to be able to bring them to a free homeland, and recently he was one of the defenders of Negba. May 2, 1948. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Negba.
