Tzemach, Yaakov (“Yankele”)
Son of Yehuda and Esther. He was born on 21.1.1942 in Moshav Beit Hanan in the south. After graduating from elementary school in Beit Hanan, he attended the “Einot” agricultural high school. When he finished school he went to the army (in July 1959) with the Ein Yahav nucleus to establish a settlement that would carry the same name as the nucleus. Was one of the first to settle and when the place became permanent residence remained in the moshav for three years – and three years after his release from the army. A Nahal parachute was found in the Nahal Brigade and a course was taken. Was a civil service employee in the field department of the Biological Institute in Nes Ziona. From time to time he was called up for reserve duty and when the Six-Day War broke out he was again called to the flag. He was considered an excellent soldier and was admired and accepted by his comrades in the company. On the first day of the war, he was killed on the 5th of Iyar 5727 (5.6.1967). He fell in a battle that took place at the Al-Kubba outpost on the outskirts of Gaza, when he was on his way to the destination; He was hit by the shelling. He left a wife. He was buried in the emergency military cemetery in Bari and was later transferred to the eternal rest of the cemetery in Beit Hanan.
