Tzahor, Ohad


Son of Talma and Yossi. He was born on the 17th of Tammuz 5735 (16.6.1975) in Nahariya as the youngest son, and he spent his childhood in the big yard, among dozens of birds, dogs and other animals, where he drew love for man, nature and the country. Rabah, who helped him to cope with difficult situations, was very close to his older brother, Ophir, when he saw a close friend, who began his studies at the Einstein Elementary School in Haifa and continued to the Alliance high school in the city. To live in Kibbutz Ma’ayan Zvi and during his last year he studied at the Hof Hacarmel High School on Kibbutz Ma’agan Michael. His friends told him that he was a symbol of an “urban” man who came to the kibbutz, who brought with him the “follies” of the city and quickly acquired new “follies.” Ohad was well absorbed in the kibbutz and became a team center in the fish. His room was open to all, and every day, after working hours, his many friends gathered for a joint outing and listening to music in the sophisticated system he was proud of. He is a ballet fan of his inner and outer beauty. He was gifted with talent, had a musical sense and played guitar. It was a pleasure to see him with great concentration and produce pleasant notes that accompanied his poetry. Later on, he drummed drums. Ohad was also known for his natural talent, and sometimes he could get into a character’s shoes and act like her. In addition, he was a sporty guy who loved the sea and was surfing. A long time before his enlistment in the IDF, Ohad began preparing for the service, and as a son of Brigadier General (res.) Milil, who fought hard and fought the terrorists, Ohad dreamed of continuing on his way and enlisting in one of the elite units. He therefore sought to improve his physical fitness, and found time for this, between studies and work, but a few months before his induction, his dream was cut off when his leg was hit by a tractor. Ohad, determined to serve as a combat soldier, hoped that he could hide the handicap created by the injury and continued to practice vigorously. At the beginning of December 1993, Ohad joined the IDF, volunteered for the paratroopers, began training as a combat soldier, and completed several months of paratrooper training, and for a number of months he did operational work on the Lebanese border. Ohad returned to the kibbutz and began to undergo difficult treatments, and in his optimistic and stubborn spirit he believed that he would recover and try to continue his normal routine, and worked with the fish ponds in the kibbutz, where he found interest and tranquility. But his illness overwhelmed him, and on the 24th of Tevet 5762 (24.12.1995) v Ter. He was twenty years old when he died. Was brought to eternal rest in his home town of Nahariya, in the military section and not far from the grave of his cousin Uri Son of-Shmuel, who fell in 1982 during the Lebanon war. Ohad left a father, a brother – Ofir and a sister – Orly. His family commemorated his memory in Kibbutz Maayan Zvi, Yad Lebanim in Nahariya and the Hof Hacarmel Regional Council
