Tzafrir, Yuval


Son of Hanoch and Esther. He was born in Tiberias on May 31, 1955. He studied at the elementary school in Kibbutz Hulata, then continued his studies at the elementary school in Mitzpeh Ramon, and began his high school studies at the school in Sde Boker and class Yuval joined the IDF in July 1974 and volunteered for the Intelligence Corps, and even planned to serve in the regular army after completing his regular service. After basic training he was sent to the unit, was assigned to an electronics technician and was very successful in his duties – as his commander says: “Yuval began his service in the IDF a year and eight months ago. He took a special technician course and was very successful. Yuval was an excellent electronics technician. He devoted himself to his work diligently and carried out many tasks beyond expectations, with persistence and persistence and a constant desire to do his best. His commanders saw him as a loyal, devoted and responsible soldier. “On the 3rd of Adar 5736 (5.3.1976) Yovel fell while fulfilling his duties in the north of the country. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Lod. Survived by his parents and two brothers. After his death he was promoted to sergeant. His mother died four months after his fall. His family commemorated his contribution to the establishment of a synagogue for immigrants in Lod.
