Tzabari, Michael
Michael ben Leah and Amram, was born on the 23rd of Adar, February 24, 1957, in Yavneh. He studied at the Bialik Elementary School in Yavneh, was a sports enthusiast and practiced painting and handicrafts. He was drafted into regular service in October 1974 and assigned to the Maintenance Corps, where he served as a quartermaster . In 1981 he enlisted in the career army, and then moved on to transport duties and served as a truck driver. In 1986, he served in the Golani Brigade and was promoted to the rank of advanced sergeant, serving in the maintenance corps at the Hayoun base. Michael married and established a family. Michael died on November 25, 1990, in a terrorist attack carried out by a soldier from the Egyptian army in the area of Nahal Shani on the Egyptian border.Moshe Arens, the defense minister at the time, wrote to the bereaved family that Michael was an excellent soldier, dedicated and responsible, who contributed to the positive atmosphere in the unit. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Yavneh. He is survived by a his wife, Pnina, two daughters – Oshrit and Einav, parents and seven brothers and sisters – Ezra, Shlomo, Yaffa, Moshe, Osnat, Yigal and Yair. After his fall he was promoted to the rank of advanced sergeant.
