Tyer, Jacob
Son of Coke and Rahamim. Was born on May 16, 1968 in Ramle, the second son of a family of four. Yaakov grew up and was educated in Ramle. At the end of his elementary studies he continued at the Nahalim boarding school and at the Amal high school in the automotive mechanics course. The economic situation in Yaakov’s parents’ home was difficult. Jacob’s older sister served in the IDF and was unable to support the family, and Yaakov submitted a request to the recruitment office to postpone his enlistment and went to work to help support the family. He was stationed in the Artillery Corps and went on basic training. He integrated into the military framework, met all that was required of him and continued his course in the artillery course. According to his commander in the course, Yaakov was loved and accepted both by his fellow soldiers and by his commanders. On the 8th of Cheshvan 5747 (9/11/1986) Yaakov fell during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Ramle, leaving behind his parents and three sisters – Sima, Daisy and Verdi. And Emmet in Ramle, where Jacob was born and raised.
