Twito, Prosper (Perry)

The eldest son of Denise and Ephraim. He was born on August 2, 1983 in the “Haemek” hospital in Afula. Although his life was so short, he took every moment of his time to do, to give, and to realize his many dreams. He graduated high school with great success and a full matriculation certificate. On February 9, 2001, Perry joined the IDF, and after completing basic training he began his studies at the Ort Megadim College in Carmiel, where he graduated with honors and was ordained as a communications and film engineer. Perry’s final project in the film industry he studied at the college was a film he directed, “There Is Life After Death” – about a soldier who was killed in the Wadi Ara attack, and about coping with bereavement and mourning. Ironically, three months after finishing work on the film, Perry was murdered in a terrorist attack in Zrifin. Perry was harvested at the height of his flowering on 12 Elul, 9.9.2003, when he was sent to secure the hitchhiking station in Tzrifin. It was 17:30 when he took up his duties. At 17:40 a Hamas suicide bomber, wearing an explosive belt and carrying a bag with metal shards, arrived and blew himself up on the soldiers and civilians standing at the hitchhiking station. The structure of the blast collapsed and the building was completely destroyed. Perry was critically wounded was rushed to the hospital, but died on the operating table. Eight soldiers and soldiers were killed in the attack: Captain Yael Kfir, Senior Sergeant Yaakov Ben-Shabat, Rabbi Chaim Alfasi, Sergeant Liron Siboni, Sergeant Yonatan Peleg, Sergeant Efrat Schwarzman, Corporal Mazi Gargo and Corporal Felix Nikolaic Wok. Dozens of people were injured in the attack, most of them seriously. He was 20 years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Upper Nazareth. Survived by parents, two brothers and a sister. After his fall he was promoted to corporal. OnPerry’s tombstone
are engraved the words “Fight like a lion and fall like a young hero, your fruit will not be lost forever.” For full memorial, see Hebrew biography.
