Twito, Eli (Kiko)

Ben Hannah and Victor. Born in Netanya on 7 November 1971. Eli studied in the Shorashim and Shazar elementary schools in Netanya until the seventh grade. Afterward, he began his carpentry studies at the “forward door”, where he acquired his skills in various woodwork. At the age of sixteen, he began to apply what he learned, in practical work in a private carpentry workshop, and during his work he acquired trust from his masters. Before his enlistment in the IDF, he worked for a short time with his father, Victor, and was a storekeeper at a construction site that his father had managed, and was known in Netanya and its environs for the amazing bicycle tricks he used to perform. In mid-November 1989, Eli was drafted into the army and assigned to serve in the Armored Corps. On the 17th of Tevet 5771 (17.1.1990) he fell to me during his service. He was eighteen years old. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Netanya. Survived by his parents, brother and sister. The family established a Torah library in his memory in the central synagogue Ahava VeShalom in Netanya. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “My dear Eli was a soldier with motivation and a strong desire to serve in the Armored Corps and stood out among his friends in his desire to help and help.”
