Turgeman, Erez

Ben Esther and Shalom. Was born on January 10, 1982 in Jerusalem. The eldest brother of Tal, Dana and Ziv. Erez grew up in Jerusalem. He began his studies at Efrata Elementary School, continued to Ort Neviim High School and completed his studies successfully. Erez had a wonderful son, a beloved brother and a good friend. As a person who was educated on values, he grew up to be kind and polite, always taking care of everyone around him. He was willing to give his time and energy to every needy person, and he did so with a delicate, sinful smile that was always on his face. When his mother underwent a difficult and complicated operation, Erez did her bedside for nights and nights, and yet, as the eldest son, he took care of the regular functioning of the house. At the end of the 11th grade, he spent his summer vacation with his uncle in Japan and returned to Amos Carmon with stories and experiences, and was attracted to sports and as an avid supporter of Hapoel Jerusalem football team. Despite the difficulties he experienced in basic training, he did not surrender and successfully completed it. His commanders, who recognized his potential, recommended that he go to an officer’s course, but Erez gave up and asked to join the Lahav Battalion, which was stationed there, in a department whose name was known as “Rabait Erez” “Erez always said,” Those who serve – to try to do it to the best. “He demanded more and more of himself to be a good soldier and applied it in practice, and at every time he performed every task and mission that was entrusted to him with great devotion and care. Even when he took command of him, as a young NCO, he took away older soldiers, found a common language with them, and the differences in age were nonexistent. On his last Shabbat vacation, Erez managed to devote time to each of his beloved family members and to say goodbye to them. Not one of them thought it was their last meeting. On the 19th of Adar 5762 (February 19, 2002), Erez was killed in an operational operation near Ramallah, at the age of 20. He was posted with seven other soldiers at the Ein Ariq checkpoint, killing six soldiers, including Erez , Staff Sergeant Michael Oxman, Staff Sergeant Tamir Etsami, Staff Sergeant Mark Podolsky and Staff Sergeant Benny Kikis, who was brought to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl and left behind his parents, two brothers and a sister, First of all, Erez’s mother said on the anniversary of his downfall: “Hello, Erez, my eldest son, the rain accompanies every step of your short life. Even when you were born it was raining, and there in heaven they cried for a pure and pure soul that descended to the earth. And in your fall the heavens were crying for the short life that was cut off. A year has passed and the heart refuses to accept that you are not with us. The heart is bleeding and the eye is tears. We stand here today on Mount Herzl. In this holy mountain, here in the cedars, in the portion of the saints and the pure who fell on the sanctification of God. What to tell you, Erez, there are so many, our lives have changed beyond recognition. Your absence has left a void in the hearts of us all, it is difficult for us to bear this heavy burden. We still expect the knock on the door, your sweet smell, the kiss, the phone call, ‘Mom, Dad, what’s up? How are you? ‘And’ Something’s Something, ‘your proverb. Our Erez, our sunshine is no longer shining. But you, who fell for Kiddush Hashem, are in the Hall of the Saints and the Pure, the Hall of the Martyrs. Under the throne of the glory of God, there with the great light, the eternal light, reserved only for the righteous and pure. My Erez. There are no checkpoints and no patrols in the sky. There you and your friends went to heaven with you, sitting and learning Torah. You must be sitting with Erez, with Gili, with Doron, with Pinchas, with Amir and with Moshe. Then he asked me to you my dear son, please shake the heavens and seek redemption for the people of Israel. cedar, With all your goodness, with great love and great hug for everyone: friends, family, soldiers. Please ask mercy for all of us. Ask for a name above in heaven, redemption for the people of Israel, redemption by grace and pity. Forgive me, my son, that I could not protect you from the bullets of the murderers, the sons of injustice, who hurt you. “Thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graveyards, and I will bring you up from your graves with me, and I will bring you with me on the land of Israel, and I will give you my spirit in you, and you shall live.” His sister Dana wrote to her memory: “You were only 20 years old and you will not grow up any more, and every year that you move you will remain twenty years old and I will grow up and I will also reach the age of twenty, and what about the years after that – army, family, children? You will stay 20 years old and I will grow up / and see my children getting married / And you – that you will not win / and I will grow / and get old / And of course you will stay / That year / And I will grow – and I die / And you will wait for me there / / And we’ll stay together forever! ” “I had a brother who is now an angel … I do not want an angel, I want the same brother … Erez, we will always remember your delicate smile, your consideration and your willingness to contribute … Erez, you leave us memories of laughter and life. We will always remember you and we promise to be strong. ” A tree was planted in memory of Erez in the Jerusalem hills by the Hod ve-Hadar community – the Masorti Movement. In memory of Erez, a website was established at www.erez-t.com.
