Turgeman, Chaim
Chaim, son of Yaffa and Rafael Turgeman, was born in Tiberias in 1975. Chaim served as a commander in the Israel Defense Forces, and in 1998 he was drafted into the Israel Police. Chaim was a wonderful family man, his wife said, a loving and caring husband and an exemplary father, a modest man and a true friend. In December 2011, Chaim was diagnosed with cancer. He fought heroically and courageously, showing a strong desire to win for his little daughters and for his family, who accompanied him faithfully and strengthened him throughout the entire period. Chaim fell in the line of duty on 13 Av, July 20, 2013, after a twenty-month battle with cancer. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, leaving a wife and two daughters, a mother, two brothers and two sisters. On his tombstone are engraved the words, “Turn away from evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalms 34:15)
