Tuchman, Moshe (Monique)
Son of Batsheva and Mordechai, was born in 1926 in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, to a family of poor craftsmen. His childhood was a bitter childhood without education and schooling. With the outbreak of World War II and the conquest of Warsaw by the Germans, he left his home and fled to Russia. On the way to his wanderings, the 13-year-old met his grandmother, but he stayed with her for a short time and was sent to Siberia. For six years he wandered through Russia and Siberia and worked hard. After the war he returned to his hometown in Poland in the hope of finding a remnant of the extended family. But when he came there he realized that he was the sole survivor of the whole family. In Warsaw he joined the “Dror” kibbutz, called the movement and friends and went with his group on their way to Eretz Israel. Moshe arrived in Palestine in 1947 on the small immigrant ship Aliyah. He made his last trip to the coast of Israel. In Israel he joined Kibbutz Mishmar Hayam. During his days in the kibbutz, he worked in the building, with a good spirit and the smile did not leave his lips. After four months in the kibbutz, the days of the Independence War, he found no respite, decided to join the Palmach and served in the Harel Brigade, and at the farewell party he said: “Either I will return victorious or I will not return at all, In the Jerusalem area, the “Yevusi” operation was carried out in the Jerusalem area, which was intended to create a territorial contiguity within the city and between Jerusalem and the northern communities of the city, and on April 22-23 its forces attacked Shuafat The movement of forces to Nebi Samuel took a long time and the assault began at dawn, and in light of the enemy’s fire, On April 23, 1948, he was killed in the first combat operation on the soil of his homeland, and Moshe was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim.
