He loved music, enjoyed listening to Mizrahi music more than anything, and in his spare time played the organ and the guitar. Daniel had “golden hands” and he knew how to fix everything at home. At the age of seventeen Daniel decided to leave the yeshiva so that he could enlist in the IDF, and Daniel worked hard to save money to help his family save for his matriculation studies and purchase a car. . Daniel was very proud of his belonging to the paratroopers, the red beret, and his wonderful guys who surrounded him. Daniel was a handsome, good-hearted man with a hearty smile on his lips, charm, an open mind and a joy of life, and was always ready to help anyone in need. The period of his army service was the happiest in his life – he was surrounded by friends who loved him and felt he was contributing and giving of himself. Daniel wrote: “Danny served in the unit as a salesman in the Ordnance Division, and Danny loved his work and was always ready to help everyone in everything he was asked to.” Danny was very friendly and loved by his friends because of his constant smile and good spirit. Daniel fell on the 22nd of Shvat 5752 (22.1.1995) while carrying out his duties, in the terrorist attack at the Beit Lid junction. Twenty-one soldiers and one civilian fell with him.
