Son of Rivka and Reuven, was born on 28.5.1924 in the city of Hrubieszow, Poland, to a Hasidic-Zionist family and studied in a “cheder”. He immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1935 and lives in Tel Aviv. In Israel, he studied at the Yavneh high school, where he prepared himself for the matriculation exams, but was not arrested because of his extensive activity in the Hagana organization, which he had been a member of since his membership in the Hanoar Haoved movement. He completed two courses for clerks at the Authorized Teacher Center and Pietman. He worked at the Anglo-Palestine Bank in Tel Aviv, and spent many trips throughout the country to get to know its landscapes, its paths and its forests, and from 1942 to 1946 he was a guard at Givat Rambam and in northern Tel Aviv.
