Tsarom, Gideon


Gideon, Ben Jonah, and Tzadok was born in Tel Aviv on April 13, 1954. Gideon was drafted into the IDF at the end of October 1972 and assigned to the Armored Corps, and after completing basic training he was placed in the unit as a Patton tank gunner, and he was very good at his dress and cleanliness. And during his vacations from the army, and even during short vacations, he used to go to the factory where he worked until his enlistment, and to work a few hours to earn money and help his parents, so that he would have pocket money and would not need anyone. Gideon in Sinai, with his unit, which set out to stop the Egyptian attacks RE Tsl”d (06/10/1973), his tank was hit about a kilometer north of L”lhtznit “and he was killed. About a month later his family was notified that he was missing. Only after another month of hopes, fears and searches did the family learn that Gideon had fallen, and that his burial place was unknown. Four months later his body was found and he was brought to eternal rest in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery. Survived by his parents, brothers and sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal.
