Tristman, Menachem


Son of Chaya and Moshe, was born on May 5, 1930 in Haifa. In his city he finished elementary school and studied frameworks. From childhood, he was a member of the youth movement “Mahanot Haolim”. After completing his studies at the school he entered the world of working life and at the same time served in the Haganah. After the UN General Assembly decided to divide the country into two states, he moved from the Gadna ranks to the Haganah and soon left his parents’ home and went with his comrades to a kibbutz movement that was sent to Kibbutz Hulata. “When he joined the army, he told his mother:” Let me go, I can not sit at home while there is such a terrible storm outside. My name is among the fighters. “Menahem volunteered for the Yiftah Brigade as a terrorist in a punitive action which fell on the outskirts of Kfar Ihasaniya near Kibbutz Hulata in the Galilee on March 13, 1948. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Hulata.
